MANUFACTURING DAY
It’s Back and Better Than Ever - MFG Day 2020 Goes Virtual!
Launched annually on the first Friday in October with events that continue throughout the month, MFG Day helps showcase the appeal of modern manufacturing careers. The initiative encourages thousands of companies and educational institutions around the nation to open their doors to teach students, parents, teachers and community leaders about all the inner workings of the industry. MFG Day also empowers manufacturers to come together to address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive.
Macomb County, along with its educational partners, will be holding a MFG Week from Monday, September 28 through Friday, October 2, 2020.
The digital experience will feature six companies virtually showcasing their facilities through secure Zoom meetings. It will also include company overviews and interviews with workers, who will discuss their educational pathways and why they decided on advanced manufacturing for their careers. Afterwards, teachers, students and their families will be able to explore each facility through a 3D virtual tour.
Macomb County’s Manufacturing Week is open to everyone! Students, teachers and parents can tune in to Manufacturing Week live, or watch at their leisure. The videos will be available online for the next year so families can explore the manufacturing industry together and discuss potential career options. Registration is currently open at www.macombmfgday.com.
